Definition: Money is anything that is widely accepted as a means of payment for goods and services and for settling debts.
The three main functions of money are:
1. Medium of exchange: Money is used to buy and sell goods and services. It removes the need for direct exchange of goods.
2. Measure of value: Money helps us measure and compare the prices of goods and services. For example, a book costs ₹100 and a pen costs ₹10.
3. Store of value: Money allows people to save purchasing power for future use. Unlike perishable goods, money can generally be kept for later spending.
